Abstract
This paper examines local and electoral conditions that recently led to a surprise electoral victory for the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) in Tierra Blanca, a Guanajuato municipality with a strong Otomi presence. This case study allows us to test a research hypothesis focused on the association between ethnic mediations and the predominance of the Action National Party (PAN) in the state.
