Abstract
This text exposes a series of problems in relation to the analysis of the corrido; the discussions arise from the consideration of the corrido as a complex phenomenon that, due to its emergence circumstance and the conditions of its development, is presented with ambiguity or methodological openness. Therefore, the objective pursued is to establish guidelines for reflection on the approach to the corrido from history, without losing sight of its poetic character; all this from the analysis of the binomial tradition-modernity, orality-writing and collective memory-historical memory, integrating historical, literary and sociological approaches, to culminate with the reflection on the role of memory and testimony in the methodological approach of the corrido.
