Abstract
This article examines the vision of the sacred present in the Alcoholics Anonymous recovery program through the analysis of its bibliography, with the help of Religioswissenschaft. Through a brief historical tour of the program, it identifies the religious premises that gave rise to that vision, and concludes that, regardless of whether Alcoholics Anonymous is a religious group ─this article does not participate in that debate─, its theological vision refers to a specific god and not just to an abstract higher power, as the organization contends.
Keywords: Alcoholics Anonymous, spirituality, the sacred.
